An Emperor with Two Ladies <span c

황제와 두 여인
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What is to be read in a painting of a figure seated upon the throne?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is a Chinese painting by an unknown painter, in which an emperor is together with two ladies. Beside the one seated upon the throne there are always people, and that seat too is formed of relations between person and person. In this scene I see beyond the outward appearance of power. Even the highest seat is, in the end, a seat for living in company with people. The higher the seat, the more how one treats those beside one tells what kind of person one is. A high seat that has lost those beside it is lonely in the end.

The higher your seat rises, look once more at how you are treating the people beside you.
