Branch of Tree with Flowers and Bi

꽃가지와 새(花枝栖禽圖)
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What balance is formed by a single bird perched on a flowering branch?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This painting holds one length of flowering branch and a bird perched upon it. It came from the Chinese bird-and-flower tradition, yet the sight of a small branch bearing both bird and flower is dear to anyone. I see here the harmony that a small thing achieves. What fills the scene is not a vast landscape but a single branch. On that spare branch a flower blooms and a bird alights, and a whole world is completed. Not everything need be large. A small place, too, becomes a sufficient world according to what it holds. Not size but harmony makes fullness.
