I see here what remains even after a name has vanished. The painter's name is forgotten, but the mountain and water still live upon the scene. People strive to leave a name, yet what truly lasts is often not the name but the work itself that one left. Even when no one knows who did it, a good work is handed down as a good work. The work travels farther than the name.
