This painting by a court painter holds a scene from the spring of a certain year, when the king attended to affairs of state himself, without his ministers in attendance. It remains a provincial cultural treasure of Busan, carrying down the gravity of that day. For the one who bears responsibility to take the seat himself, rather than handing every matter to those below, is not a display of authority but the practice of responsibility. Here I see the weight of governing in person. The most important matters must not be delegated but faced oneself. The weight of a station is filled only when one steps forward in person.
