북관유적도첩 - 등림영회도
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What is held in the heart that climbs to a high place and recites things long past?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is one leaf from an album holding the old traces of the northern frontier. As the title, which speaks of climbing high and reciting the past, suggests, the painting reaches toward a time beyond the scenery. I think about why a person seeks out high places. When the view opens, the heart that was bound to the matter before it opens along with it. The quarrels and worries at one's feet grow small when seen from afar. Sometimes only by stepping back and climbing up does the weight of the present find its true size.

🌱Apply It Today

When worry presses you down, step back, and from afar look quietly at the true size of the situation you are in.
