한국민속촌 지붕 단청
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"Why was even the eaves' underside, where the eye rarely reaches, painted with such care?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is the dancheong beneath the eaves of a folk village building. Dancheong is seen only by looking up, and even then it lies in shadow, so few peer at it closely. Even so, the old artisan laid on color and carved patterns into corners no one sees. Here I see the attitude one brings to work. To finish with the same hand whether others watch or not is not craft but the measure of a person. The mind that smooths only the visible front and leaves the back empty ends by making even that front shallow.

🌱Apply It Today

Finish the part of the work no one will check with the same care as always, exactly as if others were watching.
