📖 Origin of the Hanja
The final capital of the millennium-long Baekje kingdom. In 538 CE King Seong moved the capital from Ungjin (modern Gongju) to Sabi (modern Buyeo), inaugurating Baekje's cultural apex until its fall in 660. The 1971 excavation of King Muryeong's tomb in Gongju yielded the richest find in Korean archaeology. Today, Cheonan and Asan anchor Korea's automotive and display industries.
