DAY 53

Releasing the Fruit, One Reaches Steady Peace

Bhagavad Gītā 5:12
기원전 2세기경 편찬(서사시 전승)
ORIGINAL
yuktaḥ karma-phalaṁ tyaktvā śāntim āpnoti naiṣṭhikīm
📜 THE VERSE

The steadied one, releasing the fruit of action, reaches an unshaken peace; but the unsteady, craving the fruit, is bound by that very desire.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

What steals my peace — the weight of the work, or my craving for its result?

📝Reflection

In this verse I see again the fork where the same work becomes either peace or bondage. The one who releases the fruit gains an unshaken peace in the work, while the one who craves it is bound by that very desire. The old teacher tells me again and again that what binds me is never the work itself but my grip toward its result. 'Do your utmost, leave the result to heaven' — that mind is the key to peace. When impatience for results tightens around me, I open that hand and recover peace.
