DAY 52

Working Without Attachment, to Clear the Self

Bhagavad Gītā 5:11
기원전 2세기경 편찬(서사시 전승)
ORIGINAL
kāyena manasā buddhyā ... yoginaḥ karma kurvanti saṅgaṁ tyaktvātma-śuddhaye
📜 THE VERSE

Those who cultivate themselves work with body, mind, and reason, attachment set aside — only to make the self clear.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I see work only as a means to results, or do I know it can be a process that refines me?

📝Reflection

In this verse I gain a new eye for how to meet work. Work done without attachment is not merely a means to accomplish something but, in its very process, a practice that clears the self. Fixed only on results, work is depletion; seen as a way to refine myself within it, the same work becomes ground for growth. Like digging a well, polishing the daily work clears the water of the mind little by little. I receive today's work not only as a tool for results but also as one practice that refines me.

🌱Apply It Today

Take one repetitive task today, regard it as 'also a practice that refines me,' and do it with a little more care than usual.
