📌 ONE QUESTION FROM THE BOOK

What is the secret to freedom from the world's vain entanglements, as if flying on a strong wind?

📝ONGO's Reflection

Returning to this book—familiar from the parable of the Foolish Old Man who moved the mountains, or the tale of the man who feared the sky might fall—I tasted a cool sense of release, different in texture from Zhuangzi. The Liezi tells us that within the vast circulation of the cosmos, our living and dying, our wealth and poverty, are nothing more than the natural flow of things. Its image of a man riding the wind symbolizes the absolute freedom we can attain only when we have emptied ourselves entirely of attachment. Are we not trying to fly while still carrying far too heavy a load?

"That which has life must die; that which is gathered together must be dispersed."
Lie Yukou, Liezi
"태어난 것은 반드시 죽게 마련이고, 모인 것은 반드시 흩어지게 마련이다."

🌱Apply It Today

Today, when worry and anxiety arise over things you cannot control, practice treating them as a passing breeze and letting that inner burden flow lightly away.
