The Robbers
Can becoming a villain oneself to fight against an unjust world ever be justified?
📝ONGO's Reflection
When I first watched the fierce conflict between the two brothers, what I felt was a boiling rage and a thick, heavy emptiness. Karl's rebellion, abandoning his noble rank to become the leader of a band of robbers, was a yearning for freedom, yet in the end it resolves into blood-soaked violence. Through this young and savage play, Schiller pours out, white-hot, the limits of freedom and the contradictions within the human heart.
"The law has never yet formed a great man, but freedom breeds colossuses and extremes."Friedrich Schiller, The Robbers
"법은 아직 위대한 인물을 만들어내지 못했지만, 자유는 거인과 극단주의자를 낳는다."
🌱Apply It Today
Remember that the end never justifies the means. Coolly weigh what waves a rage-driven decision could send through others and yourself.
