Socrates
Did I question even one thing I believed I knew today?
📝ONGO's Reflection
Socrates left behind not a single book. All he left were the questions he hurled at people he stopped in the marketplace. Those questions were so relentless that in the end they carried him to his execution. I sometimes think we remember him today not because he knew the answers, but because he stopped in their tracks those who believed they knew. Choose the one sentence in your mind you hold with the greatest certainty, and simply place a small question mark before it; in that instant, you become his student.
"The unexamined life is not worth living."Socrates, Plato, Apology 38a (PD translation)
🌱Apply It Today
Pick one opinion you strongly agreed with today on social media or in the news, and for just five minutes honestly ask, "But what if the opposite were true?" Those five minutes make you a different person from who you were yesterday.
